The Meer Deer is a nocturnal and shy animal, hard for inexperienced hunters to spot due to its excellent all-around awareness and sharp vision. It's related to the Hexapede but has feet specially shaped for moving through challenging terrains like slopes and tangled roots. Its tail acts like a sail, helping it sense air vibrations to detect predators. Its distinctive head works like a shovel for digging up its food—mushrooms, roots, truffles, and worms. Although the Meer Deer is highly sought after by the Na’vi for its tasty meat, it's very alert and quick to escape, making it a prized catch that signifies the hunter's skill and patience.
